My epoxy (Cold Cure) label warned that polyester would not stick to the
cured epoxy. As far as epoxy vs polyester, my experience is that polyester
will do the job for a while, but for the long haul, epoxy is worth the extra
$.

Wow, This is a lot more complicated than I thought. Thanks, folks, for
all the input. I'll do a lot of checking before I do something dumb. I
was looking over the Raka epoxy website and they claim to have a low
viscosity /fast hardener combo that is good for low temperatures. I'll
give them a call.
By-the-way. there seems to be a lot of negative feeling on polyester
resin for coating, but some, such as "Dynamite" payson, use it
extensively. Can it be used over a hull that has been sealed with
epoxy. I'm thinking about using it for laying cloth.

If memory serves, polyester resin will not cure
over epoxy. However epoxy will cure over polyester.
