RE: [bolger] The last time - thinning epoxy
Claude,
I wholeheartedly agree. See my previous comments about warming the epoxy
and using low temp hardner; warm that too. What? You didn't save my words
of wisdom? Get a cardboard box and put a cheap automotive trouble light and
cheap thermometer in it. Adjust your temp by opening the box lids.
Works for me and I don't have to concern myself with the physics of screwing
up chemical bonds, saturation, cure time and all that other related stuff
that the epoxy manufacturer does.

I talked to the man at Raka Epoxy and Fiberglass about thinning for
penetration and curing in cool weather. He said that it can be done
using denatured alcohol, but why do it when warming the epoxy is just
as good. He claims to have a low viscosity resin that will work as
well as any and a cold temp. hardener as well. I will be trying them
soon. I'll let you know it works.
Thanks for all the great help and suggestions.

penetration and curing in cool weather. He said that it can be done
using denatured alcohol, but why do it when warming the epoxy is just
as good. He claims to have a low viscosity resin that will work as

Thanks for all the great help and suggestions.
