What global warming?
Went for a run today at lunch time instead of my usual x-country ski. Had a
close encounter with a robin as I crossed a crunchy, frozen snow bank! Then
I remembered that Nova Scotia has a sizable population of the stupid birds
who never fly south.
Oh well, the glimmer of hope was worth it.
I did drag the Gypsy into the house a couple of weeks ago to adorne her with
decorative paintings. One is a gypsy lass on the after deck in a wind
conjouring pose. The other is the same gypsy maiden playing a fiddle,
silhouetted against a full moon on the fwrd deck. My youngest daughter was
the model for both paintings. This was all in preparation for a show the
Small Wooden Boat Association of Nova Scotia put on two weekends ago. It was
uplifting to just be "messing about" with a boat, even if family members
were starting to snarl about having a 15 ft. vessel in the living room.
Truly frustrated about the Lake Champlaine Messabout date. Exact same
weekend as the final days of the Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival. I intend
to enter my June Bug and Gypsy in the races. Phil Lee won't be here, so I
intend to clean up on all the trophies for the "small craft" class.
Hang in there Peter. I notice that on rare clear days the sun is setting at
around 6:30pm. We both know that the Canadian winter, like a vampire, can't
stand extended daylight.

frozen shores of Fundy
