Garth,
I used one 5-gallon kit of 4 to 1 in my project - If I remember, the resin
was about $34 per gal and the hardener $44, for a total of $180 or so. My
only issue was the 4 to 1 was very fast-acting and I had a couple of 2 oz
pots go of before I could use them in hot weather. I don't think you would
want to use the 1 to 1 structurally; it is more of a casting/potting
compound for waterproofing.
Others have reported problems with FCI packaging in tin cans. I asked for
plastic jugs and got 4 jugs of resin and 1 jug of hardener.
FCI has a very informative free catalog, even if you wind up buying RAKA.
The catalog has tensile strength specs, instructions, etc. and lots of
polyester fiberglass info in case you are interested. I can't find their
toll-free number right now but will post it if I can find it.

here's a price comparison in descending order, $/gal.:
WEST System, from Noah's: 5.29 gallons = $320
Noah's E.A.S.T. System: 5.29 gallons = $224
Raka Epoxy (Raka.com): 6 gallons = $218
1:1 Laminating Epoxy from Fiberglass Coatings (fgci.com):
10 gallons = $200
Can anyone testify about the FGCI stuff? Sounds like a heck of a
deal, but their site is a bit confusing about appropriate uses for
the stuff. I've only ever used Raka, with good results.
Here's Noah's URL too: www.noahsmarine.com
