Re; PCB CSB plan support
A first timer, I recently built a Bolger Pirogue from plans purchased from
CSB. I got the plans within 7 days of order. The plans were fine but the
building key was so filled with typos and vague directions, I tossed it. I
followed the process described in one of Paysons "Instant Boat" books.( The
one where a Teal is built). Everything went together perfectly and I now
have a great little boat. Would I have contacted CSB if I had problems?
Maybe. Would I have tried to contact PCB? No. PCB has designed many boats
over a long career. He's paid his dues and to expect him to make himself
available to every builder with a question is unrealistic. It may be unfair
to expect him to be a good business man also, ( web site, design catalog,
plan support,ect.) as artistic creativity and business savvy rarely go
together. Lets give PCB and CSB a break. Maybe PCB will rejoin this group if
there is more talk about.....Boats!
