Two notes:
I learned to sail in (on) a Hobie 16. The thrill of a stiff breeze on
a good reach with your fanny only an inch or two off the water cannot
be properly described, or forgotten. Those were the days, my friend. I
thought they would never end.
I boxed the area under the seats (split longitudinal) and filled the
area with 12 oz empty soda bottles for extra flotation. I haven't
launched yet, but it should help.
