Good evening: Pehaps I missed a message concerning this,
but did you try tilting the engine further in to cure
the hobby-horseing? Before I would add wedges to
the bottom, I would try a pair of those manually adjustable
trimtabs, where one can alter the degree of offset by
adjusting with a wrench. There are relatively cheap.
By the way, I don't suppose you ran across a Skiff America 20
down there in the Keys? Bill, friend of designer Kilburn
Adams, and builder of boat #2, had his boat down off of
Key West, out of sight of land, about a week ago, according
to Kilburn. Bill started out in New Orleans about
Mardi Gras time, and has been trailering along the
Gulf coast, launching and cruising where the water
looked interesting. I know he was out on St. Andrews
Bay about 3 weeks ago. Kilburn is planning on taking
his boat down to the Sarasota area within a few days,
assuming he has not already left, and I think they
are going to meet-up and do some more "gunk-wholing."
Isn't it amazing the trips you can take when one is
retired and does not have to go to work in the morning?

Bill,
I'm working on a package of mods before Cedar Key. I
intend to put on some spray rails, and I will cant them down at the rear as a
start. If that isn't enough, I'll go to the wedges or tabs. I really
don't expect to run at WOT very much, and I hate to add any more drag than
