Re: [bolger] Re: magazines
Stevenson has a web page at
http://www.stevproj.com/
I went up to the bookshelves and found in my Dad's old stuff " How to Build thirty five Modern Motor
Boats" volume XII by Published by MoToR BoaTinG, part of there Ideal series. It was published in
1929. On the title page it says designed especially for MoToR BoaTinG by C. A. NEDWIDEK and WILLIAM
ATKIN and other prominent designers. It includes a lot of sailboats and you could build from any of
the plans. Quite a spread of designs from racing hydros to an 18 ft pocket cruiser. I would think
that it would be well worth the time and money to look for these or reprints on the net. I bet PCB
has a bunch on his shelves.

The Inland Seas Educational Assn has or had a number of planbooks
published by "Motorboating". I havn't seen them for a while but I
think they were published in the 40's. I believe many of Atkins
designs were published in "Motorboating". I've seen ads for "Stevenson
Designs" or some such. Stevenson had some plans in "Women's Day" 20
or so years ago, how about that?

You wrote about plans in old magazines. I haven't seen many from RUDDER and
none from MOTORBOATING, but there are a bunch of books in reprint and plans
in booklet form from Mechanix Illustrated (How to Build 20 Boats, etc.),
Science and Mechanics (mostly Bill Jackson designs), and other mags of long

If anyone turns up other sources I, too, would be interested.
