Re: [bolger] Re: L.Francis Herreshoff's "Sensible Cruising Designs"
I don't know if my eyes were _ever_ young enough to read those offsets, and
I've got the original, short wide format, edition! A good trick in this
Computer Age is to scan the tiny stuff at a high resolution, then you can
easily read it on the screen, or print it out at a convenient size. 600 DPI
in two colors (B&W document is what my scanner driver calls it) works fine,
if something is too small for that res. it's probably too small to be
legible at all. <g> The quality of the reproductions in Sensible Cruising
Designs is quite good, they are quite legible when enlarged. Maybe this
little tip will help some of you keep from going prematurely blind.

L.Francis Herreshoff's "Sensible Cruising Designs"
A "Must Have" book for any lover of boats.
Classic Designs, but even better for the "Art" of the drawings.
All "Offsets" given, but must have "Young Eyes" to read them.

A "Must Have" book for any lover of boats.
Classic Designs, but even better for the "Art" of the drawings.
All "Offsets" given, but must have "Young Eyes" to read them.

I don't know about Nathaniel G. Herreshoff's plans- I don't think he

are now in the hands of Mystic Seaport. See their website.
