I hope no one took our discussion about polyurethanes as 'heated'. I never
intended my remarks to offend anyone. If anyone was/is ticked off at me for
my comments, then please accept my apologies.

I promise my next post will have Bolger content. Really.

Greetings,
(warning - soap box mode on)
After following some of the recent threads I have a couple of thoughts:

- I agree with Jamie that we should qualify our advice so that others who are not familiar with us can better judge our expertise.

- I also think everyone has the responsibility to use their own common sense.  Anyone who uses the internet (or listens to advice at the dock) should take everything with a grain of salt.  They should then do their own check with reality and gather other opinions.  When testing some dubious technique or product, do it one something small and inshore.

- It seems that several of our discussions of late have gotten more heated than they need to be.  I suggest that we should try to offer and accept differing opinions without the heat that has been generated lately.

- One of the best things about this group is the variety of opinions that are tossed about, many of them off the top of someone's head.  Sure, many won't fly or won't work for some/most of us but it helps get us to think outside the box, so to speak.  I don't think that the purpose of this group is to come to some final answer, it's to look at the many sides of an issue.  I would hate to see a group that is supposed to discuss Phil Bolger's designs discourage discussion because we have less that an open mind.

Y'all are, of course, welcome to differing opinions.
