Micheal, have you considered leaving the spaces alone andgoing to
atyre dealership and asking for a armful ofinner tubes. they often
have to pay to dispose of them . try one that does truck tyres or
4wd's. shove em under the seats, and into the end compartments, lace
them in with a thin bit of cord( you may have to have one or 2 holes
in the right places), then pump them up on the way to the water. If I
was fitting a sealed compartment I would personally drop the level of
the decks , say 2" at the for'ard end to reduce the incidence of
Kiddy overboard and maybe 4" at the stern to allow for the addition
of a 2 1/2 or 4 hp set of aluminium oars. I Think this would also
make the boat quite attractive. Were hoping to launch our yawl rigged
J B this weekend weather permitting. It was ready for last Sunday but
I wantedto finish the oars and a hand trolley. Hope that helps.
