Re: Flotation for June Bug

I haven't done this for June Bug yet, but for the Gypsy I filled the whole
transom area with fitted pieces of rigid foam and closed and decked it in. I
cut an 8" hole in the aft frame and carved out a space in the foam big
enough to hold a camera and/or a bottle of chardonay (supper insulated!) and
installed a hatch plate. As others have mentioned, you can't squeeze much
through a small hatch plate anyway. The nifty little compartment is very
handy, and only barely compromises the massive amount of flotation on board.
The promblem with this for JB is that her rear seat is right up against
where the bulkhead would go. Probably an easy solution there somewhere. Good
luck.
