Hi Chuck,
Fantastic boat you've done there!Congratulations on her successful
launching!I enjoyed the pictures.....almost gives one the impression
you just sort of popped her together over a handfull of weekends! If
the building in the background shot of her on her trailer is your
shop, then I'm exactly the same colour as your hull....GREEN WITH
ENVY!!And if that wasn't enough, there is that terrible Texan weather
you folks are forced to put up with day after day,all year long. How do
you do it?!
As you can see,I'm a bit late with the praise since I no longer
have tons of free and ready access to this technology with my new job.
I particularly like her looks without the mast!I think she would
make for a neat and svelte river type cruiser capable of economical
runs up some bridge-choked waterways and into some exciting
territories!!
There is an old wooden sloop up here in Montréal that was built
somewhere in Ontario in the mid '20s.She lost her mast sometime in the
'60s trying to shoot under a bridge during spring high water and
hasn't had one on her since! The owner put a nifty pilothouse on her
and he now puts her nose into some pretty strange places. The keel was
removed and replaced with a chunk of lead in her bilge.
Anyway,I look forward to reading more about her AND to seeing more
pictures of her sailing.Pity that Texas isn't just a wee bit upstream
from here!
Happy adventures and safe sailing to you and yours!!!

Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, twitching all over in anticipation of the first delivery
of wood for the next project, here on the shores of the St.Lawrence....

Very nice! Looking forward to a complete report, i.e.,
materials and methods, etc.

Maybe the largest Michalak design yet built?

Wish I had a shop like that to work in.

Max
Chuck,

I agree with the others.....great boat....love the lines and the size of the cabin.  Do you have any interior shots?
