Re: [bolger] Re: Brick Times Two
One could increase the station spacing from 6" to 12" and come up with a 16' Brick. Remove quite a
bit of rocker like John's scow, Look up PCB's article in MAIB about increasing sail area of Brick,
moving mast into center, repositioning the lee board, etc. (could temporarily attach lee board with
"C" clamps until right center of resistance is located) or one could just simply build this nice
looking scow. Clyde

I'd like to build one of these sometime, looks like fun-- including the
big dipping lug! The boat is in Harry V. Sucher's "Simplified Boatbuilding"
and the plans can be had from the Smithsonian.

My son-in-law wants to build a brick and when we get together an camping
trips we can use Grout to connect my brick with his.

Mike,
You would get a large open scow that is too big to cartop. There
are much prettier boats of that size that would get the job done. I
have the Brick and Grout plans because I have an eight-by-four trailer
that would take the combo perfectly. So many boat plans...so little
time.
Bink.

Bolgeristas,
You've seen in the book two Bricks put together? What would be the
characteristics of simply building a 16' x 4' square boat? Has anyone tried
this?
