Re: [bolger] Depoe Bay April 28 and 29
Jim-
Beverly Beach park is nice, I stayed there last year. There was just too
much boat stuff going on last year for my girlfriend, so I couldn't talk
her into bringing her motor home this year. ;o( But I think I'll enjoy
staying in town, close to the action.
The low-key aspect is the best thing about the Depoe Bay festival! So far
the organizers have managed to keep it fun by not imposing stifling rules
or fees, and there's no official competition to make exhibitors uptight. It
resembles a motorcycle event I instigate whose motto is "No Fees - No
Prizes - No Rules", which I think is a very good sentiment <g> that Jack
Brown and his accomplices must share.

I have no truck with lettuce, cabbage, and similar chlorophyll. Any dietician
will tell you that a running foot of apple strudel contains four times the
vitamins of a bushel of beans. <S. J. Perelman>
Dave,
Yeah, and the campsite profile under "shade available" says "not applicable"
Considering that it has rained every day this month on that coast, we could
be getting more coast than necessary. Thanks for the thoughts. Photos will
be taken and posted.
Hurrying to finish PS #2 for the trip.

I'm going to be there, and Larry Barker. The Festival is such a low-key
event that we'll have plenty of face to face, it consists mainly of
standing around and gabbing about boats! The crab feed might be a good time
to sit down together and socialize, or we can meet for dinner at the Sea
Hag or elsewhere one evening. I'm going to be going over Friday afternoon
and staying at the Trollers' Lodge. I'll probably drop my boat off at the
parking lot (festival grounds) when I get into town. If things go according
to tradition the fellow who built it should be camping down there to keep
an eye on things.
The road down to the festival is just north of the bridge, and there may be
a sign saying that the Coast Guard station is down there (though the road
goes up first).

Jim,
I'll be there, staying at the Troller. I don't know the town well enough to
suggest a meeting place though. I think I'll carry around John's picture
from Port Townsend -http://www.boat-links.com/PT2000/Bolgerians.jpg
