Caused nothing but grief (and rot) for me in bedding a hatch. I've
rebedded with 3M 101. Not a place to save money for me anyway.

I used a polysulphide for removable bits on my Chebacco -- BoatLife Life
Caulk, I think it was. Mucky but does a good job.
However, for the elegant punt's bottom strips, I used glue (I think I only
nailed at the ends). I figured that when they wore down, it would just
power plane the surfaces flat, and glue new sacrificial pieces on top. I
have no idea whether the boat will outlive the strips in any case -- so far
both boat and strips are still going strong -- it's been 4 years now.
