K55 Sharpie construction method
Hi all.
what sort of scantlings and/or construction method would the K55
Sharpie have? Dimensions from memory were 55' x 9'6" x 3'. I suspect
could build out of steel - relatively easy - or even aluminium,
expensive, but very low maintenance. Out of ply? Two layers of
1/2inch on side perhaps? Who knows? I am just curious......
As a liveaboard for a couple with a couple of kids and the frequent
guests, this would be great and not too expensive. A sailplan of only
780 sqft (is that right?) would make the rig relatively inexpensive,
and that's one-third of the cost of building, in my experience.
Anyhoo, any comments appreciated. FYI I am currently eyeing an
AS29....
