Um, flat bottom boats should be supported by cross rails under the
bulkheads. See Michalak.

Hi Mike,

Same here. Same ply, too. I keep mine outside and I
guess frost damage plays its part.

If I was doing it again, I'd use glass tape to make
the bottom panel joint, instead of using a butt-strap,
where the problems are worst.

In fact, I'd glass the whole bottom, too.

PCB has now drawn an alternative JB bottom, with a
1/2" ply 'shoe' extending the full length and about
half the width of the full bottom. Should be MUCH
stronger, if a little heavier.
