Let me point out that this somewhat dense paragraph was not written
by me but cribbed from something on the web.

Maybe that'll make more sense to me after I've had a second cup of
coffee ....

Quine's Ontological relativism led him to agree with Pierre Duhem
that for any collection of empirical evidence there would always be
many theories able account for it. Thus it is not possible to verify
or falsify a theory simply by comparing it to the empirical evidence;
the theory can always be saved by some modification. For Quine,
scientific thought formed a coherent web in which any part could be
altered in the light of empirical evidence and in which no empirical
evidence could force the revision of a part.

If so, it went past me without even slowing down.
There is a fair bit of tongue-in-cheek in that post,
even for PCB...

Without judgemental comment in any direction:

Phil - great to see you on the list!
I'm sorry to see that there are problems regarding the marketing of
your designs' plans.
I've bought 4 sets of your plans (two - Micro and Long Micro - from CSD
and two - Chebacco and Bobcat - from Dynamite Payson) and must say
that, even if the quality of the reproductions is poor (very poor in
the case of Micro: there's simply no comparison - two different worlds
- in quality with a set of plans of a Bruce Robert's designs I bought
from their Australian rep), they ,and in particular Bernie Wolfard, who
has been editing the great CSD newsletters after Elrow La Rowe, are
known for the great support they give (or have given) to their
customers. I'm pretty sure that their presence on the Web makes the
difference. Most people (including me) simply do not use snail mail
anymore...
Anyway, I'm building a Micro and would be happy if you could visit my
web site mostly devoted to the big little boat. It also includes a very
amateurish analysis of the design (which I'm still working on though)...
Again, welcome to the list, and best regards

The style of the 'Bolger on Bolger' message is not
at all like that of the Phil Bolger books. Is it

Seriously, it's an honor to have PCB drop in, but somebody really ought to teach him how to anonymize his email so he won't get swamped by silly requests and time wasters. He ought to set up a Yahoo.com or Hotmail account for use with any participation in this list.

Wellcome Phil & Suesann,
I am Larry Henry, Palm Bay, Florida. I am the new owner of John Bell's
Windsprint, & I am building a Brick from the plans in "Boats With an Open
Mind". Matt Long (Brick builder) told me they were the full set of plans &
being in tight financial straights at the moment i couldn't see buying what i
already had, so to speak. I have been in love with your boats ever since i
resd an article in "WaterCraft" by Bill Samson about building a Chebacco.
Went out and bought BWAOM & Payson's "Build the new Instant boats" book.
After i get Brick built i plan on building "Tortoise" for my grandsons to
play with. There is a beautiful pic of Tortoise & zypher in "The Wooden Boat"
by Joseph Gribbins also a Black Skimmer too.
You and HH & Jim Michalak are the only ones i see drawing "real" boats for us
poor backyard builders. Thank you very much Phil & once again, welcome.

Dear Phil and Susanne,
Welcome to the list! (How long have you been listening in? <gulp!>)
A new era has opened up with your presence, and hopefully the more
extravagant or just plain looney claims made by us will be swiftly
corrected.
Hope you can stand it!
Best wishes,
Bill
