Re: Wiley Port

Vince,
Just to clarify;your Wiley port 2,in the files is actually a
foredeck hatch arrangement à la Bolger. The Wiley port 1,in your
file,is the item Tom should properly look at.;-)
Thanks for posting the drawings!! These will surely save many
hundreds of words attempting to describe the items!
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, looking forward to a weekend of being"forced"to wash the
interior of my MICRO so that my evil taskmaster of a crew can go
sailing,on the waters of the St.Lawrence.............jeese,some
peoples kids!

Does anyone know who Wiley was? I have assumed that it is Ralph
Wiley, a designer from the Chesapeake Bay area, but I don't really
know. His 'Mockingbird' design is a Tancook whaler type of uncommon
beauty.

Bolger also refers to 'Wiley Furling.' What else did he invent?

Anyone have hard facts?

Peter
Tom,

I have uploaded two .gif files of the Wiley port to a folder of that
name in the files. My scanner truncated the upper portion of each sheet,
but hopefully there is enough there to work from. If you need any of the
missing dimensions, just e-mail me.
