Re: [bolger] Japanese Pullsaws
maybe i don't get it, isn't a pull hacksaw just one with the blade in backwards?

Thanks to all of you for the responses. Seems that Home Depot here doesn't
carry the replacement blades. Thought I would go with another source where
I could get separate blades and handles. My pull saw is fast becoming the
only hand saw I use. I even found one source that makes a hack saw blade.
For those of you who haven't tried one; suggest you pick up a cheaper
version and have at it. This saw has really improved my crude versions of
joinery work.
Thanks, again, group.

Incidentally, I find the smaller size is easiest to
use on plywood up to 1/2" thick.
Someday I'll treat myself to a really good quality
one, and no doubt will come back to the list raving
about how great it is!

carry the replacement blades.

Jim Chamberlin was wopndering where I got my pullsaw.
The answer is "Homebase" - which I suspect is the UK
equivalent of Home Depot!
It was very cheap, but seems to work fine. The blade
is very thin and floppy. The trick is to start the
cut with the saw at a low angle using the tip of the
blade. The great advantage is that it doesn't tear
out the grain like an ordinary handsaw (or jigsaw, or
circular saw). Also, with that floppy blade, cutting
curves is no problem.
