Ah you guys, have ye no soul? Just to hear that low primative drone
spreading out like a rich green wet rolling pasture to the horizons
and the melody(in a minor key) floating along on an unseen summer
breeze....I'd betcha that is the sound a dense old growth forest
would make on a windy day,if it had the right training! It's enough
ta make the fur rise on your sporran, I tell ya!
Besides Halloween,it is the only time a fella can get away with
wearin' a skirt and I have been told,by those who should know these
things, that Sean Connerys' biggest appeal to the fairer sex,are his
cavles prominently displayed just bellow the hem line.Aye,t'is a
manly sort of thing for us hewers of wood and builders of boats.
"Oh I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I works all day and I drinks all night"........
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, recalling a beautiful cover photo of WOODENBOAT
magazine, which had,a piper up on the foredeck,of all
things!.......

Why lessons? All you need is the bag pipe.

Beautiful pictures(as usual) John! I didn't know Jamie Orr played
the pipes. Now I'm really jealous!!! I've a dream sequence that has
me up in the bow of Windermere, playing my lungs out on a set of
pipes as my Pesky Crew guides Windermere very slowly out of the
yacht club basin a little after 5:30am........I figure this will
more then make up for the many nights I was kept awake by their late
night drunken banshee screams from the end of the quays.
I have to finish Windermere first, then convince my crew that I
really do NEED bagpipe lessons.
And,by the way,if even two boats ever showed up,it would still be
the "nicest",the West Coast has it all.........lucky devils!
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, who sometimes feels like he is stuck on a rock in some
gulley, instead of a beautiful island in the middle of the mighty
St.Larwence, everytime he sees pictures of the West Coast...........

What's this about Bolger Bagpipes? Is this a new design?
