[bolger] Lack of Progress - with excuses!

Larsboat might just fit the bill.
What an embarrasing series of questions!!!! ;)
The procrastination bug bit me a little and a project at my main
contracting site ATE my summer. The June Bug has been taken to the lake
several times and rowed. I have a mast roughed out and a 68 sq foot lug for
it, but have not made the rudder and lee board. There is still that darned
rot on the transom and that has to be fixed before a rudder can be attached.
The Larsboat is really a crime! I have just not taken the time. I went
kayaking on Spring Creek in North Harris County (VERY flat water) in August
and totally enjoyed it! Thot that would encourage me to finish the
Larsboat, but it got me interested in buying a PLASTIC canoe (can we admit
stuff like that on this list?). Well, I never found a canoe, never finished
the Larsboat and I am admitting this before a forum of Bolgerists that
ALWAYS finish their projects. Woe is me. Plus if I finish it now, I can't
use it because of the severity of the Houston Winter and it takes less
storage space in pieces than it does assembled. I really should do "spin"
professionally!
The kayak I rented was a Dagger Bayou 2. It looks very much like the
Larsboat. I found that paddling the boat, fore and aft trim is really
critical. Too much weight aft and it is sluggish and inefficient; too much
weight forward and it wont stear woth a hoot! It had a sliding seat that
not allow my generous weight far enuff aft. So I tacked down stream hitting
alternate banks of the stream. Then again, maybe I am not a kayaker.
Tim - will share my excuses or prepare some specifically to fit your needs

Welcome Tim!
Did you ever finish the Michalak Larsboat you had started at the when I visited you at beginning of the summer? I was really curious how it would turn out. Been using your June Bug much? I'd love to try it out the next time I'm in Houston.

I have built a Micro hull, became frustrated with the project and gave it

I have also just finished a kit airplane. Our friendly government has not
inspected it yet, so it is on hold!
I am considering a Michalak AF3, a Bolger Jinni or a Harlow SandPiper.
Roger Harlow is a friend and an amatuer designer. He basically took the
JuneBug and grew it to 18' and placed a small cabin on it. Right now I am
in the "Paralysis of Analysis" mode and until I generate a decision, I will
be a "former" builder.
Hope my life story has not bored anyone (other than me). I plan to lead a
more exciting "next life" but that's another story.

Tim:
Welcome aboard. We are trying to nail down a messabout date for this spring
on Lake Texoma. Are you having one again this year? What is your date? I
want to make both events.
