The sodium silicate protects the wood from burning when the molten lead
is poured into the wood mold. It is a liquid that is painted on the
wood.

I agree with the ideaof making a blank or plug. it wood be simple .
If yo had a wooden frame around your cement mould it wouldnt matter
if it cracked during the pour. What is the sodium silicate for ? Im
thinking flux added to the lead to remove impurities. If your leadis
clean ,ie not oxidized or a lead ore , you should'nt need it . you
would only need it when smelting , not melting to repour. your
temperatures would never get hot enough to melt the flux.
There is a dune of na sand just out of town , actually it disappears
into the desert for about 100km,s Is that enough for you?
