Don't pay any attention to "Don". He's obviously forgotten that
at
one time he too was a beginner. If you don't know what it is you're
doing; ask. At the current price of plywood and epoxy, it is too
expensive to make
mistakes that can be avoided simply by asking some one first. Most of
the
books suggest laying the material for the sides together and then
cutting
them at the same time. This is practical as long as the size of the
material
isn't too unwieldy.
If you don't already have one, you might get a copy of "Instant
Boats"
by Harold Payson. He covers such things in that book, and is
entertaining
as well.
Best of luck.

Don - thanks for the encouragement.
Apparently though the answer to my last question is not trivial as you
think, even looking at the answers. Probably I'm too perfectionist, but
the question is obviously not about how to use a cut panel as a pattern
to duplicate it. I've done it already and, believe me, it does NOT work
that well if extra precautions are not taken. The problem would,
obviously again, be different if I could have used two butted panels at
a time, but I can't...
I also hope that my endless questions on Micro (I guess they've been 5
or 6 since the beginning) are not bothering you and the rest of the
list too much, otherwise just let me know...
Thanks again

Boat buyers and sellers! Do you feel lost in a sea of classified ads?
Stop treading water and get to iWant.com, the Internet community that
connects buyers and sellersFREE! Its all smooth sailing from here.

Before you cut the first side, you could stack them up and drill 1 or 2 mm
holes through both.
Keep up the good work and impress your wife and bebby. I build
quick-and-dirty for the lake, but I don't take them down to the Gulf on
Mexico. I just imagine the conversation.."well, umm, yeah, honey - whoops,
grab that 2 by 4 and hold on to it - they said not to use luan and elmer's
glue, but you know - just keep treading water and relax - it's awful cheap
that way, and, uh - ouch! those jellyfish just sting a little - anyway, I
was trying to save a little for shoes for the baby, and those guys on the
list are such know-it-alls, and uh..."

for the Micro, the line referred to as "top of moulding" is critical,
and also the "top of antifouling" line should be relofted as well, and
also the afterdeck horizontal line must be drawn. So, all taken into
account, I wonder if there is a real difference in time; there is
though a difference in precision, and this seems to suggest to reloft
everything (1 hour per half panel)...
I did the mirror copy with my first boat, and even taking all possible
precautions, I missed 5 mm somewhere that I still cannot understand...
Thanks again

Draw one on one sheet, lay it on another, tack corners, & cut the lines

I have endured your endless Micro questions and not commented at all,
but really, your last query squeezes a response. When you asked if,
having lofted the starboard side, should you then re-loft the port one?
Well, I know not all Bolger boats are symmetrical, but Micro is. Can
you not imagine clamps and pencils?
Please dear Pippo, throw away your pc and just get on and build the
bloody thing!!!!!
