Mr Bolger discusses the Martha Jane design in "Boats With an Open
Mind". I have the feeling that this is an edited version of an earlier
article but can't place where I might have seen it.

You might be interested in the article "Shoal Draft Mecca", "Small
Boat Journal", Dec/Jan 1988. This is an article about a cruise in a
chartered Black Skimmer on Florida Bay.

Once upon a time I read an article written by Phil Bolger describing his
thinking as he designed martha jane - starting with the black skimmer as the
beginning point. I can't remember where I found that article. I wonder if
anyone out there on the bolger list knows? Also - if anyone has a
particularly nice jpg of a black skimmer I would enjoy adding it to my
collection of sharpie pictures - anyone?
