Re: 2 part epoxy

I used to work for a company that used this kind of tube and nozzle
arrangement for mixing urethane. MUCH better consistency; it seemed
that no matter how hard we tried, now and then hand mixed batches
wouldn't come out right. I haven't seen similar problems with epoxy
though. I worked at another company that needed a dab of mixed epoxy
many times per day. Had an automatic mixer. You could press a pedal
and hold a cup under a dispenser and get some anytime. But you
couldn't let the machine sit, obviously. I think it probably used a
similar nozzle, but i can't remember.

www.mcmaster.com sells the guns for $20 and the epoxy tubes for
$10ish, and a pack of 12 nozzles for $1ish.

I used to work for a company that made concrete anchors, so, ya, I
know a little about it.

The guns and tubes are pretty expensive. We were selling the guns for
about $35, and the epoxy tubes went for about $20. You might be able
to find them a little cheaper though.

The long nozzle on the end is for sticking in drilled holes. Also,
the epoxy gets mixed inside the nozzle, so the nozzle is not
reusable, and it wouldn't work for small, intermittant boat jobs.

BTW, regular boat epoxy mixed with cement or limestone, makes a good
mix to anchor bolts in. Apply with the corner of a baggie clipped off.

My wife is addicted to home improvement shows, and yesterday I saw
something that caught my attention.

They were anchoring bolt in concrete using a 2 part epoxy that came
in 2 separate tubes that dispensed out of a dual tube caulk gun thing.

Sure seamed handy. Anyone know more about this?
