Good evening! Glad to hear progress is being made.
Concerning the fuel connectors, I think I have some of the
"old style" (they changed in '88, I think) laying around,
but the UPS would cost as much as new ones.

Personally, I have about given up on used fuel coneectors.
Often the "O" rings are bad, and the manufacturers of the
fittings will not sell you replacement "O" rings (I have called
them.) I have also driven all over town, stopping at hardware stores,
hydraulic parts dealers, tractor dealers, etc., looking for a "will
fit" "O" ring. You can get replacment "O" rings for the
pressure-tank-type connectors, although changing them out is a pain.
Of course, pressure tank fittings are petty much out of production
now, so you don't have much choice.

The cheapest and wisest thing to do is to pick up a complete
hose assembly with fittings at Walmart. If it were me, I would
pick up two- I NEVER go out with only a single hose. They are too
easily damaged.

What about Lake Monroe in Sept???

Although a 25 is a little big for a Starfish, I'm pretty sure you'll be
the fastest board boat on the water, bar none!!! You can give PWC and
windsurfers a run for their money!

When I take some more!

At this time it des not look all that much different than it did in
the most recent batch. We have been out of town for much of the past
two weeks on vacation so progress has slowed. This week, finshed
building deck for the motor well. Last night I started painting
enclosed area underneath the motor well, but ran out paint. Once that
is done, all that remains is fastening down the slop well deck,
putting the skids on the bottom, and final sanding and painting.
Plans are to start painting this weekend, weather permitting.

I picked up my free 25 Merc last Friday in Louisiana on our way back
from Texas. It is a little beat up since a mouse had chewed a hole in
the cowling and set up houskeeping inside. So far, all I've done with
it is to clean out the mouse poop and verify that it has compression
and that the lower unit has lube. The previous owner tossed the gas
tank and fuel line since he felt they were unusable. I just wish he
had kept the fuel line fittings, though. You wouldn't have a set
laying around? All it really needs is a little bit of rewiring to
replace the three the mouse chewed up, and a good carb cleaning and
rebuild. A friend who serves with me on our Church's session who used
to race lay-down hydros has offered to help me sort it out when I get
ready. However, I'm not focusing on the motor until the boat is
painted.

I also pick up a trailer with my new to me Starfish sailboat. A
Starfish looks just like a Sunfish FYI. It will work for the AF4 once
the tongue is lengthened by 5 feet. That is going to take about $30
for parts and about an hours worth of labor, so it will be done only
after the boat is painted.

As for paint, I'm going with latex porch paint.

Thanks for asking though!
