Another leeboard release
Chuck - That's a nice, clean looking release system (nice boat too).
As an alternate way to implement the same basic idea, for those of us who
like lots of choices :), I've uploaded a drawing to Bolger2
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bolger2/files/cleat-release.jpg). I ran
across this in some multihull cruising book. They used it for sheets to
prevent a capsize. I thought it might make a good general-use release
mechanism. Unlike you, I have not used this so can only say it looks like
it should work and can make use of the stuff that collects in the parts box.
