[bolger] Re: Super Duper Guper

As far as how much glue to use in a joint, I've always been told "use
just enough"... and was also told any extra will squeeze out... so as
you clamp it if nothing squeezes out you didn't use enough.

With epoxy, it likes to be thick. This means light clamping pressure.
Or leave your screws a half turn or so loose then usually. I've
sucessfully used a series of 2-liter soda bottles (empties filled with
water to toss) for plywood scarfing weights.

Your mix ratios don't have any catalist. Are you assuming we know you
add this anyway? (I do hope so)

Well, it's done. The transom has been glued up using WestSystem epoxy.

After priming the surfaces with straight resin (2 pumps full,) I glued
it all together using a mixture of 1 pump resin, 1 TBL spoon Coloidal,
1 TBL spoon Microfibers. The resulting mixture was about the
consistancy of cold ketchup.

The whole assembly is held together with about 20 1 inch sheet rock
screws. If I had known how much resin would squirt out of the joint, I
would have laid it on a little thinner.

YIBB,
