Re: Champlain Messabout pictures

Lincoln,
Thank for posting the pictures. I wish I could have returned on
Sunday. Next year should be easier now that I know the lay of the
land, and know where the motel/hotels are. I was staying an hour and
a half away, and the kids had had enough boating/swimming/ fishing
for the day.
I am willing to bet that with pictures like these, this event
will be a smash hit next year. Same time? Same Place?
I feel better knowing that I am not the only one with pictures
still in my camera. I had better develop them before building the
companionway hatch! Way to go Peter, love the brass slides.

Thanks.

Looking at the Lk Champlain Messabout pics reminds me how beautiful
that lake is! Once upon a time I lived on the north eastern shore of
Shelburne Bay. I left that area in 1975 and have only been back for
occasional visits since.

It was a great place to get started messing about with boats.
Something I just can't leave alone.

I didn't know about Bolger then, I thought a 16' aluminum boat with a
25 hp JohnRude was pretty cool though! That was Dad's first boat,
and by extension mine too.

I "discovered" Bolger's work in 1983 and built Pooh Sticks
http://photos.yahoo.com/raymcquinthat winter. I just this summer
pulled her out of the barn for the first time in years, freshened up
the paint and started teaching my kids how to row. Now I've got the
bug to build again, that's why I've joined the group. I haven't
decided on a boat yet, still bouncing ideas around in my head like a
bb in a freight car.

Don Craig sent me some pictures of the Champlain messabout, which I am

They are from Sunday.

I've got some Saturday pictures trapped in my camera, maybe I should
come up with an excuse to finish the roll.
