Re:Dakota update
Chuck,
I posted a layout but it is not real clear. Basically the layout is the
streetcar style with a 2ft. aisle the full length of the cabin. The fore
and aft cabinetry, bulkheads, etc should be kept in line as shown for
longitudinal stiffening. The athwart bulkheads are also important
stiffeners. The only modification I made was to move the starboard
settee forward so it aligns with the port one. This gives me two lockers
aft, but a smaller dresser ahead of the starboard berth. I designed the
bunk flats so they can be slid out to the center and the seat backs fill
outboard. This gives a full king sized bed when desired.
Per PCB's suggestion, I left out the bilgeboard shown, so the dinette
seats are roomier. The helm seat is on top of the icebox/fridge and
flips forward for additional access. Likewise, the passenger seat is
above the galley and flips forward to increase counter space. There are
raised foot platforms for helm and passenger. Also, the dinette is a
step up to improve the view out the windows when seated. There is a ton
of storage in this boat under berths, dinette seats, etc.
