Re: [bolger]What design is it?
Those are cool pictures! I built a boat like that to
my own design, and before I finished it (though
actually it still needs deck paint) came accross the
plan of ST Jan in I think, Messing about in boats.
Mine was based on a long standing idea for a boat that
would have all the practicality of a bass boat
(excepting the speed) but be environmentally friendly.
Originally I was thinking of a sailboat, but the idea
was just too silly particularly when you add the idea
of flyfishing.
The idea came together when I found myself owning two
outboards, one an electric, and the other a 3.5 hp
kicker. Imediately I had the powerplant, and all I
needed was the boat.
Mine is more multihullish than Bolger's who either
just doesn't get multihulls, or is way ahead. I
designed mine with low resistance hulls, compared to
his more skiff like hulls. His should have more
displacement than mine, which would be nice at times.
For instance mine have the convensional immersed stems
and free stern, and might seem less like a rocking
horse. I designed mine to have enough room on deck to
hold a self supporting tent, for "houseboat"
operations.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a Bolger outboard
powered boat. It looked like a platform with
sides built on a couple of small pontoons.
Anyone know what I am talking about, or am I
just dreaming it?
Thanks,
