Has anyone seen any pictures on the web, or heard
anything about the jaunty looking Bolger designed
Double Eagle? A catamaran described as a 39'
wilderness cabin for six paying guests on week-long
trips in the Alaska wilderness.
A sheet for it was featured in Wooden Boat #146.
Any information would be appreciated.

Being a machinist or sorts, I would go after the 1" waggling rudder
stock problem in a slightly different fashion then most.
Instead of trying to mess around with enlarging the hole to 2" I would
look at the head of the rudder stock and think about how I was gonna
pull the shaft and fit it with a sleeve on the top. A piece of steel
bored to 1" to fit on the shaft with an outside diameter to suit tiller
mounting should be a piece of cake. Or it could be square stock so you
could get a better grip with the tiller. You could fix it with a
keyway, or spline the shaft if you are fussy and have the right
equipment. Or just drill it all for a couple of stainless steel cross
bolts that could do double duty to mount the tiller firmly also.
Maybe I should ask, how is the tiller fastened to the rudder stock now?
Is it fastened in some manner or just friction fit to the rudder stock?
Somehow I hate to think of enlarging holes in the bottom of any boat.
