The foam brick is actually much heavier because of a great deal of glass and epoxy. Not one of my
better ideas. Clyde

I have a difrerent bolger tender, the one from Instant
Boats. Anyway, I have the cheapest MinKota electric
trolling moter, it was under $100 US at Walmart. With
two of us aboard, and battery, probably about 400#
including the boat our fishing gear, could be more.
The darn thing almost pulled us up on plane.

I use a saltwater series 46lb thrust minkota on my Pointy Skiff.
With a couple of deep cycle batteries you should be able to run for 4
hours or more at full throttle!
I can run for 4 hours at a slow troll with a small deep cycle
starting battery. I am going to buy a bigger battery next year. We
have had an awful lot of fun and caught tons of fish with this set
up. Plus, the motor is quiet and easy to stow.

Hi Clyde -
I imagine that your foam brick (now there is a concept) is much
lighter than a wood brick. I guess I'll just have to build one
(wood), try it out and see. Have not heard of anybody else trying
it...
thanks.

Mike, My Honda 2 on my foam Brick, set in a well in stern was overkill at anything much over idle.
You need to get over idle to kick in centrif clutch so this was a problem. So much rocker just
raises the bow and even sitting in the bow doesn't raise speed but makes a lot of wake. I have
actually cut the bottom off my brick to make a skimmer type boat but I haven't had time to finish it.

Thanks.
