What do you consider "conventional" ?

In Small Boats, there is Nahant. She is 25'6" centerboard sloop with
a big main and small jib. Also, Lynx, a 14'8" boat with Micro-like
accomodation which he calls a cat but which has a very small jib. And
two Friendship sloops Monhegan (18') and Master Hand (22'6"). And
Prancing Pony which is a 22' sloop, but about as heavy and as much
work to build as a 30' boat.

In Different Boats, the Triple-Keel Sloop at 22', strip planked. I
know that PCB has offered this plan for sale to amateurs. I think he
likes it a lot. I would look into a different keel, myself.

In 30-Odd boats, Pico is a 21' sloop with Dovekie-like accomodations.

And in BWAOM, Sea Bird '86 is available with a gaff-sloop rig (not
shown in the book) as well as Blueberry. I'd take Sea Bird in
preference for a cruise.

I remember that one of his articles in Small Boat Journal was a
review of tabloid cruisers, including Poco Dinero (Hanna), the O'Day
22 (Deknatel @ Raymond Hunt Assoc), and Picaroon (Rable), but I don't
remember off-hand that he included any of his own in the discussion.

There were a number of sloops among the "cartoons" that he published
in Small Boat Journal, but the only one that comes to mind in this
context is the flush-deck sloop redesign of the Folkboat.

one terse passage.

I know what you mean, but the lump in my throat gets in the way. This must be the designer's biggest nightmare.

>As doubtless you know, Blueberry is the subject of a
good book.

I didn't. Can you give me any clues as to where I can obtain one please? Cute boat... I wonder what the result would have been if Bolger had done all the design work? I can't think of a Bolger design that I've seen that answers to the brief of a conventional, good looking pocket cruiser with sloop rig, but there probably is one, somewhere.
