Re: 31'folding Schooner

Do us Schooner builders a favour please and use a different title for
a discussion on electric motors. When the next budding schooner
builder does an Archive search they will be blasted with talk of
Buzz motors!!
My pesonal choice would be say a small 3 phase and a 10 hp generator
as ballast.( dont get Wet). The Plans show a short shaft 4.5 hp O/B.
I suspect a 6 might be a better choice . however a 8.5/ 9 hp 2stroke
is the same weight these days and there would be nothig wrong with
having another 1/4 turn of throttle available for emergencies. Having
said that If your transom is built to spec then ignore everything
I've saidexcept the 4.5 hp bit, or get your friends / family to learn
to row. its good for you apparently.

on the dried up shores of Lake Lefroy, amongst others, water table
now 3 inches below surfaceand dropping.
