sew, sew, sew your boat, gently down the seam

Hi all -

This Sailrite sewing machine (Ultra Feed Zig Zag) I bought last week
is truly great. I read the manual (yes, I'm one of those), then
watched the DVD that came with it, THEN unpacked the machine. It
sewed great right out of the box. I had a question (about the DVD
actually) and got help immediately. I also ready Don Casey's book.

I have not sewn anything since my 7th grade home ec class (I
graduated from high school in 1981). Yesterday I made a canvas &
foam cat pillow, hemmed my new corduroy pants, and sewed a catnip
toy. Next project is a new sail cover for the boat, followed by a
cover for the aluminum motor boat, followed by a bimini for the
sailboat, and then cushions. I'll soon be available to barter for
sewing services. I'm quite glad I rented "Tailor of Panama" over the
weekend.

I'm passing this thread along in case anyone is considering investing
in one of these machines.

Keeping myself in stitches.

Mike

Ps - for those of you on the 'find Mike a date' mission you can now
say "and he sews too."
