Re: flu remedies,up-date...

Dennis,
It wasn't all that bad on the old stomach(god knows I've
swallowed worse!) and the Port did help soften the blow.
Banishment from the work place? Not really but I was given free
and ready access to the coffee machine, watercooler, staff lounge....in
fact,no one got in my way all day! I kinda liked the experience of
being"my own boss" for the day and may resort to more garlic and Port
next time I feel my co-workers are becoming to chummy!
Hope the queeziness has left you and that all is well!
Soncerely,
Peter "garlic breath" Lenihan, healthy once again on the shores of the
St.Lawrence..........

Criminy, Peter! It sounds as if the cure was worse than the disease.
My stomach is feeling a mite queezy just reading your post -- I hope
I'm not coming down with the flu.
Garlic vapors a body can handle. But stale port and garlic
vapors would require banishment from the workplace! Unless, of
course, you dabbed a little mentholatum behind your ears to make
yourself presentable.
Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Well folks,I think I killed the flu and the horse it road in on!
I took the broth with about 14 drops of tabasco sauce then eased
myself into a very hot bath. While there, munched on 4 large cloves of
garlic while sipping a glass of Port.....boy,was it getting hot!!
Anyway, felt like a hog sweating garlic juice so bad that I was
banished to the sofa,as far away as possible from Pesky without
ending up outside!
Awoke this morning feeling somewhat lightheaded.Gave a good blow
into the kleenex and Presto!......I am a new man!
The big test will be later today at work......the true test of
collegues friendship.....as I exhale the fermented garlic vapours all
over the place......yewwwwwheeeeeee!
Thanks to all who helped!
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, looking forward to giving Lincolns"hat trick" a good
try, perhaps next week, from the shores of the St.Lawrence.......
