Check out Jon Jr. at Jim Michalak's Web site. Length 12', beam 4',
weight $100. Simple 'Instant Boat' construction. Carry it on top of
your car or in your pickup. I'm thinking of having a crack at it
myself.

I just lauched my BassAckwards today - its a boat. I
designed it 6 years ago for a 3.5hp kicker, and a
electric front mount. It is a 16 foot catamaran,
which has a lot of advantages, it takes little power
to move, you are walking on a deck that is large
enough to pitch a tent on, and yet the whole thing can
be carried with difficulty by two people. It is a
trailler boat. you are standing about a foot off the
surface of the water, and and nocking noise aren't
going to go right through the hull to the fish.

I was in an acident, and while the boat has been 96%
finished for about 5 years and 10 months it just got
launched today.

Michalak's QT Skiff? Bolger/Payson Pointy Skiff?

I'd go for the longer boat like QT myself. The longer boat will have more
capacity, be more seaworthy, and be easier to fish with two than a shorter
one. It'll hang out the back of the truck a bit, but it's not too bad if
you've got a longbed.

The motor canoe in BWAOM would be a neat choice if you don't mind stripping.
Strip-building, that is. I've been thinking that a three-chine taped seam
plywood version of that boat would be a useful addition to my personal navy.
Come to think of it, Michalak drew a two chine motor canoe a while back...
Look in his Way Back archive for information.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
