Thanks Carron. I inadvertantly poseted the ELTO message to this
board rather than the "boatmotors" board. So far, there hasn't been a
response there.
I got some photo-copied manuals from a fellow who also sells raw
castings of the various handles and knobs. I'm leaning toward doing
just as you suggested and splice a casting onto what remains of the
original handle. I've joined the AOMCI too. Luckily, the motor is
otherwise complete.

That's a nice enough engine that you are going to want to make it original,
I'd expect. You *will* be able to find the original part with enough AOMCI
swap meet looking. In the meantime, why not take a bit of steel or ally and
just splice onto the stub by drilling and tapping a couple of holes.
Do you have URLs for outboard message boards? Someone might be able to cme up
with one on such boards.
