Re: [bolger][OT] List Policy on Virus Warnings?
Some people have their virus software to automatically send a virus
notification to the sender. Usually, it's an all-or-nothing
affair. Additionally, some people read the group at work, where an
enterprise-wide virus scanner is in use. Those folks have no control over
whether a virus notification is sent - it's up to the IT guys. I can
assure you that they are not going to be happy if you ask them to try to
stop the notification for a non-work-related personal message.

Alright, I just received another virus that was blocked. Another list
I belong to asked its members to stop posting virus warnings such as
this, since it is not on topic. I guess since the W32/Badtrans@MM
virus infected certain people on this list, that everyone knows about
it?
Should people continue to post when they get a virus sent to them, or
only with new outbreaks of variants? What is the list policy on this?
In some cases I have not been able to get a hold of the infected
member, so by posting this to the list, maybe they will see it.
Comments?
Thanks,
Paul
