Re: It's a sad day!
Hi John
Casco Bay is south of Bangor about 2 hours. Portland, Maine's
biggest city is in southern Maine. I live in South Portland, just
over the bridge from Portland. I would love to have to see my
Sneakeasy when you come. Why don't you e-mail me your itinerary at
sbosquette@...AND I'll respond with my address etc.
Thanks

It's a mystery to me why anyone in the land of Red River Cereal would
have any interest in grits.

You HAVE a garage? I'm jealous.

Yes, I know the feeling, my Micro "Riff-Raff" is outside covered in
blue polytarp waiting, waiting, waiting for my return from the sunny
south.
Of course garages are not for cars, they rust a lot quicker in one if
it's heated or attached to a heated house. Especially if you live in
an area that the Transport Org. salts the highways for you. If it's
warm enough that the frozen slush behind the wheels falls off and
melts, it's the perfect enviroment for rampant rust. Only way to rust
quicker would be to park it on an ocean beach's splash zone. It's not
salt that hurt a car, it's salt water. By letting it melt every
night, you're activating the catalyst solution every evening.
So go ahead, build boats in your nice warm garages all winter. If you
like a frost free car, all toasty warm inside in the fridgid a.m.
plug in a block heater and splice the cord together with an electric
in car heater. Warm, frost free and rust free, ta' boot.
As for sister in laws lurking in your garages, I think they rust away
there too. Move 'em outside and install a plug in heater too. It's
the best thing for them.

My house is designed around the shop. It has a 10.5 ft overhead and a
9.5 by 16 ft garage door. Everybody thinks it is a nice garage. The snow
is building up out in front on the cars as we speak, the only vehicle
that has been through the door was a friends truck that needed some
work.
The cars can rust in the dark. The wood is dry and warm inside.

JB, y'all:
If it's Vancouver Island you'd be a-coming to, yep, you sure can haul
us some grits. Or crawfish -- even better. Or catfish. Come see us in
sunny Victoria. (Well, it's not been so sunny in recent days but with
any luck we'll have some hints of spring in January and the water
will be quite boatable even then -- unlike in those other places you
mentioned. Brrr.)

Hi
Garage is for tools and projects and no place for cars.
My wife thinks so to I wouldn't trade her for 2--- 20 year olds.

I know the feeling well. I've found that putting the boat's building cradle
on casters makes it real easy to steal an hour or so worth of work by
rolling it back inside.
Where is Casco Bay in relation to Bangor? I'm going to be heading up to Old
Town for at least one week next month and would love to see your boat.
Best,
JB
