I must say, your note about looking at the canoes in the Lord Of The
Rings absolutely tickled my wife, who has looked upon my recent
obsession with boats with a certain chagrin.

"You see," I said to her. "I'm not the only person who is crazed!
You went to the movie and saw a pictureque film about a bunch of
short people obsessed with jewelry. Some of us went to the movie and
saw a bunch of short people about to embark on boats! Bill Sampson
