In the book he describes it by allusion to the
Shanty-boat concept. This is less a boat for sailing
and motoring pleasure, than a houseboat that can be
sailed and motored. Of course as to how all that
sorts out, would depend on the kind of
sailing/motoring one had in mind, might be perfect
daysailer for someone.

The article also makes clear that the boat is built in
sections, so that one assembles the skiff, and then
builds up the sides and over the top, for ease of
construction.
