FW: [bolger] Re: Transom alteration for a micro

Hello Martin,
The"board" covering the transom is to the same dimensions as the
plans minus the middle which was cut out.
Sorry,no close up picture of the knees, but if you could imagine
a knee with its two legs the same lenght(refer to the max.width of
transom board) with a smooth convex arc joining the two legs then you
have it. Or,try this, visualize a quarter slice of your favorite
pie,on edge!
Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, suddenly hungry for pumpkin pie, from the shores of the
St.Lawrence............

Peter,

thanks for the reply
Two questions, 1) You made the board at the transom much larger than
the plan?
2) do you have a photo of the knees.

I also am on a tidal river, probably not as fast as yours but 3
knots is not unheard of.

Martin,
No,it does not flex. Also, there are two small knees intalled
longitudinally(fore and aft) which lock the top piece of the transom
in place.
