Re: Advertising on Yahoo
Bruce --
Thanks for the heads-up on Webwasher. It was getting pretty bad
lately -- reading this newsgroup on the web was like driving down a
neon-lined strip mall. I'm an anti-commercialism grouch (is this
inherent in being a Bolger builder?), and Webwasher is a big help.
More time and focus for boats now.
All best,
Garth

I have sucessfully eliminated about 90% of the ads by using
WebWasher, a "free" program at URL:
http://www.webwasher.com/en/products/wwash/download_license.htm
It filters out almost all advertising images, and most "pop up"
and "pop behind" windows. The only thing it does not handle are the
Macromedia Flash ads (the "Yahoo Essentials" ad).
This program has filtered out more than 9,000 advertising images in
the last month of use!http://www.hallman.org/bolger/statistics.gif

Sure Bob,
My trick has been to discard the glass or goblet altogether and
replace it with a stein!I know this is verging on sacrilege and
represents a grave insult to the fruit of the vine but once you become
accustomed to the heft of this new format, you'll notice that your
taste buds aren't the slightest bit distressed and you can now more
fully revel in the subtle smokey hints contained within some
saucey, but never rude, rotund red while the blasted machine drags its
feet and Yahoo attempts to pay bills.
Look at it as a blessing in disguise! :-)
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan,who can't even spell"New Years Resolutions".......

Read the group on email.
The traffic, while high is not overwhelming. It is easily managed by
filtering all the group messages to a separate folder as they arrive or by
taking the digest once a day.

Subject: [bolger] Advertising on Yahoo

| My yahoo is slow enough without having to double the time waiting for
