[bolger] Using One Part Foaming PL glue
In an effort to find something more convienent to use for gluing
framing to ply than expoxy I tried some Polyurethane foaming glue.It is
advertised as waterproof and superstrong. Found it very convient to use
and the test joint we made and stressed broke the wood rather than the
glue line. It goes on clear and then foams up to fill gaps.I thought it
was ideal. Unfortunately I had a severe allergic reaction to it. Just
from breathing the fumes while applying and getting a few drops on my
skin when opening the bottle, I was sick for several hours. Never had
anything remotely like this experience handling expoxy. Chuck suggested
that there is nothing handier than expoxy and that is looking like very
sound advice to me just now. There is much less vapor with the expoxy I
have used than with this product.
