I have been buying Silicon Bronze square drive screws from McFEELYS
SQUARE DRIVE SCREWS, www.mcfeelys.com for years. The square drive
has many advatages for boatbuilding. The screw stays on the driver
tip by its self and can be installed with one hand, even point down.
The square drive is also resistant to "cam out", where the driver tip
jumps out of the screw recess. The company has always been reliable
with the orders.

That works most of the time. However, some of my best sources for
things don't show up on a google search.

Silicon Bronze is Silicon Bronze. The stuff is very tough and corosion
resistant. It is not the same as Brass or any other type of Bronze, though.

I endourage y'all to try the very simplest thing, which is to
put "silicon bronze screws" in Google and see a number of suppliers
pop up, including Clark Craft, Glen-L, and Mertons.

Peter
Silicon bronze screws, as far as I know, are pretty much a wooden
boat specific item. Local marine stores don't even carry them. Don't
trust Home Depot for marine quality fasteners. Better off with the
online distributers.

Once again I'm stumped.

Does anyone no of a good source for small orders of silicon bronze
screws. The boat project that I'm in the middle of only requires a
few screws of a few different sizes and I'm not interested in buying
a pound when I need only 4 screws of a given size.

Any references would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
