Mail Filters

The recent spate of death, taxes, and copyright posts has driven more
than one person off this list and that's a shame.
I offer the below information in the hope that it might prevent further flight.
FILTERS!!!
I miraculous thing where by your computer will automatically throw
away e-mail that is likely to make you unhappy. I use Eudora as my
e-mail client primarily because of its well designed filtering
system, but other clients can filter as well.
Set up a filter that tosses anything from Bolger containing the word
"copyright" in the subject. Set up a filter to toss anything
containing the word "Viagra" in the entire e-mail. Set up a filter so
you never see a note with "david@..." in the FROM
header.
Filters saved my most valuable professional e-mail from collapsing
under the weight of dozens, sometimes hundreds of collegial but off
topic posts each day. Maybe filters can help keep my favorite
avocational list strong.
